Tenzien couldn't get into the spirit world one way, but could get into the portal? I thought the portal was as special as the world itself.

Anyone or anything can enter through the Northern or Southern portals. It takes something spiritual to enter the Spirit World not through the portals. If you don't use the portals to enter the Spirit World, you don't have a physical body.

I don't get how Korra got Avatar powers back without Rava if that wasn't Rava she refused with. How did Rava come back though if Rava was killed? Did she rediscover "good" with the light that was brought to her from the spirit world by Tenzien's daughter's spirit?

Rava and Vatu continue to spawn off of one another over periods of 10,000 years. Rava would have been revived regardless and have been capable of defeating Vatu eventually, but it just takes about 10,000 years for this to happen. Basically what Jinora did was illuminate where Rava was inside of Vatu, and Korra was able to extract it.

I dont know if I'm answering this correctly but the ability of the avatar to bend all of the elements is not something given to them by the spirits, or Rava. Even with Rava gone she would still have the ability to bend all of the elements. Same thing with Unalaq and Vatu. Even though they merged, unalaq was still only able to bend water and not the other elements.

The ending is kind of weird b\c normally it is a person meditates in the normal world and goes into the spirit world in their spirit form but in Korra's case she meditates in the spirit world and goes to the real world in her spirit form.

I thought that was her being able to bend her energy. At least that's what Tenzen said was what she needed to do was to do as the ancients, connect with the cosmos and bend the energy within herself. Same as what Aang learned to remove Ozai's bending, he bended the energy within him to take away Ozai's bending.

I don't think they were just normal spirits in the spirit world that she could go talk to.

The Spirit World is something I wish they would explain a little better. They had Iroh speak of how he made the choice to become an inhabitant of the Spirit World, yet they had Commander Zhao in the place with the lost souls.

With the way Iroh spoke it seemed like the Spirit World was some place you had to decide to go, wish they could spend some more time clarifying it since it is a main part of being the avatar and a part of being the avatar they really didn't touch too much with Aang as well.

Maybe with the portals being permanently opened now they will involve the Spirit World more.

I think they have to because there will be a lot of new problems caused by them now living in the human world. How will the spirits interact with all the new technologies, what will happen when the humans visit the Spirit World, and can Korra find the lost past Avatar spirits?
