Get a crack barrel. Benjamin makes good ones that are cheaper than Gamo and don't require pumping. Some shoot 1200 fps +

Nothing better than the old school CB. Took down a many a bird with it. A few finch too. Got that arse beat on the finch, though.

Yep. That's the one I had. Bought it at Jack's Lock Shop on Louisville. It was a killer.

I scooped up the one I linked. Not sure how I feel handing my son a piston powered gun. As a youth, the difference in 3 pumps & 10 was enough adventure in itself.

I shot a small buck that was banging our bird feeder into our sliding glass door . When I got to work my wife called to let me know we had a dead deer in the front yard . Caught a Lung with a 22 cal. Benjamin .

And don't go buy that heirloom from Academy, Bass Pro, or Cabela's. I plan on bringing my son to a real mom & pops sporting goods store to make that purchase. I want to tie a good story to that purchase. I wish Steinmart's or NA Guns was still in business in BR. I'll probably go across the river to Spillway Sportsman or the Pierre Part Store. Paying a few dollars more is not an issue with that.

I'm from a tiny town and where I live you can shoot whatever off your back porch. (Kill 2-6 deer every year out of the back door). Well I went to stay with my cousin in metarie and they had so many squirrels that the redneck in me wouldn't stop itching. I found my older cousins benjamin and when my aunt came home she freaked out at the sight of me (9 years old) and my 8 year old cousin cleaning 13 squirrels in their driveway.

For those that had Benjamin as kids, they can be rebuilt. I just rebiluilt the pump in my 347. It's like a brand new gun now. Parts
