actually... teal are some of the slowest flying ducks there are if not the slowest... shifty... and usually flying full throttle... but nowhere near as fast as many other duck species.

I fully agree. When I say 'fast' I'm not talking cruising speed at sky high during migration. I'm talking just within shooting range. They go balls to the wall until they hit the water and they are meanuever like crazy.
ETA: Was doing some research on fastest duck, and a red breasted merganser was clocked going 100mph. Holy shat

I take a limit of teal any day of the week... Love shooting those lil bastards. They make an awesome gravy or seared on the grill
