1 day late payment on credit card

Idiotically forgot to pay one of my credit cards this month and was a day late. I payed it as soon as I found out the next morning. How much will this stupid brain fart affect my credit score? This is my first late payment ever.
And while we're on this subject, how much does the lateness of the payment play a factor? Is 5 days exceedingly more detrimental than 1 day?

Not an expert, but if u call them, they probably take off the late payment notification. So it wouldn't hurt you at all.

Paying one day late won't do a thing. Relax.

They will only report you to the credit bureaus if you're 30 days late or more. You may have a late fee but that's it. You're good.

None.

I think it's a 30 day+ late that gets your credit score to be dinged.

Ah, gotcha. I really didn't know how they operated. Good to know.

They will charge you interest for the entire 30 days even if you paid the balance one day late. Call them and they will probably remove both. Same thing happened to me about 6 months ago.

Sorta.
If you have a special interest rate offer you may find that you are now paying 20% or more, sometimes they will yank the offer without telling you.
But it definitely won't hurt your score. Quite frankly, most issuers love people who are no more than a few days late every now and then, it's extra cash flow in late fees.

Call them. Ask if they waive fees for 1 day
I've done it at least 4 times in my life
All they can do is say no
And not one said no to me

True. That would suck!

I've always had success with them removing fees + interest. Just tell them that you are a loyal customer and all that jazz

Put it on auto pay for the minimum (at least) each month. You can always pay more but at least you are protected!
Why take a chance?
