Tre'davious White is an elite CB prospect and the reason Alabama didn't recruit him hard has nothing to do with his height. He was 100% LSU from very early on.
And Mathieu was a complete game changer, and any team and coach in the country would have wanted him after what he did his freshman year.
It's not like LSU only takes small corners, when the talent in there as is the case with Mathieu or White you can overlook an inch or 2.

If you're developing talent anyway, why not develop the players with the higher ceiling. 5'11' to 6'1" seems ideal for a CB to me.
Hope LSU is not giving these guys an inch, which means Tre White and Rickey Jefferson are really 5'9"

If you haven't noticed LSU is more interested in players that can step in early than players that need to be developed. I'll take a 5'9 corner with great hips, footwork and reactive skills over a 6'1 physical specimen at CB every time.

Or why pass on a guy in your backyard with great talent because he's short an inch.
