Should Matt Flynn be worried?

This may seem like a weird coincidence, but the situation looks like it could be a similar situation involving Matt Flynn. When he was signed by the Seahawks, they ended up drafting Russell Wilson in the 3rd round, and after Wilson's impressive showing in the pre-season, he earned the starting job over Flynn, who many people thought would have been the Seahawks' starter.

Now that he's been signed by the Oakland Raiders, he's slated to be their starter. However, the Raiders drafted Tyler Wilson in the 4th round (Another Wilson...) and if Tyler Wilson has a stronger preseason than Flynn, Matt unfortunately may be a backup again.

Do you guys see this playing out for Matt Flynn the same way it did in Seattle?

No Tyler Wilson isn't as good as Russell.

Lol the Mick, this is true, but I'm sure that Matt Flynn would much rather earn his money playing football than standing on the sidelines holding a clipboard.

Worried? He's getting millions of dollars a year regardless. Besides, back up qb is the sweetest gig in pro football. You get paid to hold a clip board. He is probably sitting back sipping on a crown and coke right now laughing at your post with his arm around some hot chick. Yea, he's pretty worried

I know. I'm pretty sure he will start this time around. Tyler is no Russell!

I hear what you're saying FaSheaux (And if Matt Flynn even sees this post, if he laughs or not, that will be pretty cool haha) but Matt is a competitor, he wants to be on the field kicking butt and taking names, not standing on the sidelines longing for a chance to lead the team, and if you're a backup on the Raiders, I can promise you that you would be longing to see the field to see if you could help make that team better! Money notwithstanding, Matt Flynn will work hard to keep that starting job throughout training camp and the preseason, I hope he is able to hang on to it.

This would be awesome, guy is a smart ball player, knows where his receivers are on every play but you all know this anyway. Don't think they can afford him though.

Tyler Wilson may turn out to be a pretty good NFL QB but he's not the kind of guy who can step in and start as a rookie. He needs some seasoning.

The thing that he should be more worried about is the offensive line in front of him.
