It wa real basic, I just wanted to try it.

2 eggs
Whole milk
Cinnamon
Vanilla extract

Mixed it all together, dipped in 2 pieces of whole wheat bread, cooked until golden brown.
Didnt have powdered sugar but served with butter, syrup, and blue berries.

It was good for just a quick throw together, but what can I do to make it even better? Total newbie here

And let the bread be challah or brioche and you got a winner right there.

My favorite breakfast food.

Surrey's bananas foster version is my favorite.

French bread, challah or brioche. I don't care for stuffed or fruit with mine, but lots if folks do. I use vanilla, butter and nut extract and Cajun Power vanilla cinnamon sugar in the custard. Powdered sugar or syrup on top with a side of bacon.

The restaurant that I played with thier recipe a bit(black walnut and nutmeg) with thier recipe was done with days old French bread. The true essence of "pain perdu" as it is truly called. One must never waste a morsel of food.
