Extremely unfair that this disease came upon such a great person. I admire the courage Steve has shown during this battle and the awareness he has given to the world. I don't think many people, including myself, would have handled this such a spectacular way.

I don't think I'll ever be able to watch the special that was shown last year where he was teaching his son, Rivers, tips on life without a few tears falling.

Steve knows that advances in technology are the most immediate ways he can help ALS patients get the most out of their lives once the disease takes over. It's great that companies are recognizing that and donating.

This right here. It might not seem as a quality of life for us that are healthy but when you are battling for your life you would do whatever it takes to keep it going. Being unable to swallow and breath are the top major complication from ALS. If you can talk and move around through advanced technology and even have implants to help you swallow and machine that helps you breathe while all in a wheel chair and not confined to a bed this would be a victory for ALS patients.

Yeah, unfortunately it won't be very long now.

I know I would sound cruel saying this but I would rather his eventual death be quick and painless instead of him suffering through it.

Frick, why does this have to happen to a great human being like him?

I'm glad to see him staying strong and fighting for what he believes in.
