I don't give a frick what we were alive for. We had no shot this year, none, even in the playoffs, we would have had our asses waxed on nat'l television. (again). Only this time we could of said "we didn't have payton". The saints also would have made a dubious amount of millions.

Goddamn, son. Go get laid.

You're taking this shite way too seriously.

The Saints will draft the BPA who will be a starter and have a solid rookie year, occasionally showing flashes of brilliance. He'll probably be considered one of the 15 best players from the combine, and there will probably be some who'll insist he came to the Saints with a top ten grade, with a small minority wishing we had taken whoever NYG or NE takes.

But if we consider the Saints draft trends, whomever the pick is, he'll likely be outproduced by a mid-rounder (like All-Pro's Graham or Evans did), or even an UDFA gem (like PT or Moore). Point is, you're blinded over marginal differences & not seeing the Big Picture.

Which is a sign you just need some trim.

I feel like this is said way too much about this organization when we don't pick the BPA in the 1st. We tend to go with needs.

See:

Sed Ellis (most painful pick in this regimes history I feel. An obvious plug a hole pick. You don't even want to look at all the guys drafted behind Sed. We traded up to 7 for him after trying to trade up even higher to draft another DT in Dorsey)

Mark Ingram (wanted him so bad we still couldnt pass after making an actual BPA pick)

P-rob (I'm leaning towards a need pick, no actual substance to my opinion on this one, it was pick 32)

Actual BPA picks:
Jenkins (#2 ranked DB)
Cam Jordan (this is the only time I can think off that they clearly passed up a want for a BPA pick)
Reggie Bush (most had #1)

Not really sure where to put Meachem, I remember draft rankers busting our balls for this pick but when I try to see how Meachem was ranked now, it seems he had a huge 1 year run in 2006 at tenn and might have shot up draft boards.

So we always go BPA? I disagree

I think we try to hard on 1st rounders, then lose the pressure to fill a gap and go with actual BPA and high ceiling picks the rest of the draft.

Well said.

You forgot to mention that those 2 wins also take some of the stench off the defensive play (wait, the defense still ended up being the worse in history. Never mind).
