I actually watched the second one the other day and came to a conclusion. Daniel only wins because his oppenents hate him so much that they give Daniel penalty points when a cobra ki kicks him while he's down. Watch the second movie and all of Daniels points come from cobra cheap shots.
I can still watch this movie even though I've gotten pretty high up (for an avg person) in martial arts. Daniel's tournament victory isn't really that difficult to bear. Like someone said earlier, it is a point system and not actual fighting. What will make you cringe is watching Miyagi take out all those people with painfully slow and clumsy movements. He didn't know the first thing about Karate when he was cast.
