Thanks for sharing Meateye. I hadn't seen that one yet.

I try not to think about it but I know there is a sad day on the horizon for Saints fans. Continued prayers sent to Steve and his family.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees (9) hugs former teammate Steve Gleason, who has Lou Gehrig's disease, after breaking Dan Marino's all time season passing record in the fourth quarter of an NFL football game against the Atlanta Falcons in New Orleans, Monday, Dec. 26, 2011.

Definitely from last year after the record. look at the collar of the uniform as well.

Great, great picture nonetheless.

his story was posted yesterday in a Milwaukee paper and it really puts life into perspective.

quote:

“Life is difficult. Not just for me or other ALS patients. Life is difficult for everyone. Finding ways to make life meaningful and purposeful and rewarding, doing the activities that you love and spending time with the people that you love — I think that`s the meaning of this human experience. I think about death all the time. I think that`s a good thing because we`re all going to die and the only thing we can control is how we are and what we`re doing in the meantime,” Gleason said.

Great pic!

If these two guys don't inspire you, even fans from other teams, then you just don't have a clue.

Great Pic. Just validates why Drew is one of the most respected players by his peers.

BTW, is anybody else tired of ALS being referred to as "Lou Gehrig's disease. Like he was responsible for it. Think how the Gehrig family must feel everytime their family name is invoked by this horrific illness.

Time to Retire the nickname and let the Iron Horse rest in peace.

Easier said than done.

I can tell you from firsthand experience that ALS has terrible awareness in this country.
At least people have heard of Lou Gehrig's disease.

Unfortunately your probably right. Sorry about your experience with ALS. i can't imagine dealing with this for myself or my loved ones.

Easy for guys like me to bloviate from the cheap seats.
