Damn, same size and position as Victor. I hope this doesn't effect his position and consideration of LSU. I'll have to find this out for myself

So, does this commitment mean that we're slacking off on the recruitment of Jarell Martin from Madison Prep?? Something else I will need to find out for myself

Although, I can see Martin playing the SF position b/c he does have some handles and slashing ability. I hope we don't slack off recruiting either.

I think Mickey and Martin both have the versatility to allow them to play on the court at the same time. Mickey can play the 3, according to reports, and Martin is going to be a stretch 4 more than likely.

Not sure how this will affect Victor, but I'm sure you will find out and report back to us in detail though

eh... its not that funny if you just put "PF" in front of his name. The center position is overrated in college. Many teams just go with two power forwards. I mean, kinda funny since he's adamantly against playing C.

Unless he grows some more, it seems to me Martin is better suited for the SF position

huge get for the tigers! If we can land Martin and stop there, I'd be excited about this class mixed in w/ what we currently have on the roster. Hopefully having Mickey on board w/ help us land another blue chip.

Jones is going to play smaller, faster. Although Martin isn't 6'10, he plays very well around the basket and has the frame to add some bulk. He's got alot more going for him out of hs than Tasmin did, and Tasmin was consistently very good in the paint.

I envision Martin as a SF, but he could very well be a a "stretch" PF because of his ball handling and shooting ability, but he's also a good rebounder. In addition, Martin has length (6'8" at least) and is athletic. He's the biggest talent out of BR since the Brandon Bass/Glen Davis/Tasmin Mitchell era. Mickey sounds like a nice get, but LSU needs to get Martin.

He measured 6'9 at the KD camp over summer

I haven't seen Martin in person but the heights look pretty accurate for the guys I have. I don't think it's crazy for Martin to play 10 minutes at the 5, pretty much all PF's do in college now anyway.

Ronald Dupree was one of the best post players statistically ever at LSU. He was 6'6". I know he played on some poor teams, but he was a stud (I am admittedly biased here).
