"Pregame" ?? That is the loudest pre-game pageantry, Mike's antics, student section chanting, and above all, the loudest "Hold That Tiger - Pre Game Salute" by TGBFTL ??

IMO it is not even close: My Soph. year - Nov. 1982 LSU-Florida State. The whole campus was at a fever pitch that day because the winner of the game was getting an Orange Bowl bid - LSU's first major bowl since the '74 Orange vs Penn State.

Before TGBFTL lined up in the SEZ, an LSU student dressed up (ostensibly on purpose) as a Seminole, and the costumed Mike attacked him, broke his spear in half and pretended to stab him with it.
The Student Section went ballistic.

"Pregame Hold That Tiger" was drowned out. At the time I thought 'this must have been what it was like against USC three years ago.'

Good one. I was lucky enough to see that '00 Tenn. game. It was made louder by a Knoxville Sentinel writer publishing an article during the prior week entitled "The Death of Death Valley" (we had just lost to UAB the week before.)
Yeah I don't think I ever saw an 80 yard TD run with a 60 yard stiff-arm.

Another incredibly loud play was the TD run around the left side in the NEZ to take an early 7-0 lead on Tennessee in the 2005 Monday night game after Katrina. That was deafening!

That was an exciting crowd from beginning to end. We had season tickets in the west side upper deck and when the fog rolled in the second half we couldn't see the action on the field.

Another electrified crowd was the 1971 Notre Dame game - the crowd buzzed from pregame to the final horn.

Unfortunately, I was a little young and didn't get to exeperience the LSU FSU game.

For me, since 1992 the loudest game I have been to was LSU UF in 1997 (I have missed very few home games since 92).

The crowd was rowdy going up the ramps into the game. During the game there were freaking ripples from the noise and vibrating stadium seen within my 32 oz beverage in the SOUTH endzone. My ears were ringing after the game. My ears never ring after a game where I sat in the south endzone.

Best atmosphere's:
1) 2007 Florida (4th down power!)
2) 1982 Florida State (oranges a plenty!)
3) 1979 USC (smaller stadium at that time)
4) 2003 UGA - THE PROGRAM ARRIVED THAT DAY on Skyler Green reception.

Even though the game was a shitshow, 2009 Florida was pretty damn energetic in the stands prior to kickoff, that's where we got this badass video from, still gets me pretty hyped up when I watch it.

I just want to note the 2003 UGA game, how incredible the organic LSU chant was after we coughed up the lead. It was the loudest uniform chant I have heard in that stadium, came completely from the fans, and was one of the proudest athletics moments I have ever witnessed.

USC Trojans.
1979.
Ask anyone who was there.

And yes, I have been to every big game since that one. And it's still not close.

End of discussion.

One of the greatest nights in Tiger Stadium history that doesn't get mentioned here enough. Pre-dates a lot of posters. There was great history before our recent run in the 2000s. I'm not asking for the good ole days back, but there has always been a feeling of the underdog in us (maybe why we hate Bama so bad). It's great being on top, but there was something about being the dog and winning in TS(like Fla in 97). Winning because we were in Death Valley, winning because the crowd made things impossible for the opponent, beating better teams was the most fun. Now we are as talented as anybody. Let's just beat Bama.
