Best player to transfer from LSU after being here at least a year?

With talk of some talented players transferring, it got me wondering what some of our biggest losses have been.

I'm under the impression that historically, we really haven't been hurt and that most transfers were players who knew they couldn't beat the competition. So am I wrong? Have any players that transferred after a season on the roster really panned out for other colleges?

I agree with the Cecil nod. Except his transfer was to a cell block before McNeese.

Arrested ... dismissed.... then signed at McNeese .... dope got him kicked off that team too.

I believe later "transferred" to prison on criminal charges from his brief stint in Miami.

Bottom line --- lots of talent... no character.... Not what LSU needs/wants.

Well that and getting kicked off the team is a bit different than transferring.

I had forgotten about him. But his bio says he only attended LSU in the spring and left after two weeks of the fall semester. So I wouldn't say he had a year at LSU.

What about Phil Loadholt? Dude was a beast O-Lineman at OU after signing at LSU.

Lavelle Hawkins was the first to come to mind as well.

I don't think Loadholdt ever got in.

Rick Clausen was the starter at Tennessee for a while but wasn't really missed.

History generally proves they were lacking playing time for a reason.

I think Boone is making the wrong decision. Gore the right decision. I dont know about Randle.

Hawkins was supposed to be a good one.

Amp Hill was another highly hyped WR. Was supposed to be better than Bowe in spring practices but got injured and transferred to UCF or USF I think

Tim Pope was another highly rated player signed in 2001 if I remember right. Did he transfer or get kicked out?

Ryan P of course.

You should have asked who was actually worth a crap after they left LSU! You could have also said name a player that transfered from LSU and went on 2 be a decent player in the NFL. I can't think of any lol

Craig Nall/Started his sophmore year until the interception machine from Shreveport took his place. Craig went on the break Bobby Hebert's records at N.W.St and play for Green Bay,Buffalo, and Houston. Craig and Rohan Davey split time until dipweed transfered in and his Dad bought him the position from Dinardo. Jarrett Lee can't touch Josh Booty's interception record(19)in 2000. Very similar scenario as this year. You had two capable QB's in Craig Nall and Rohan Davey but Dinardo would not take Booty out of the game. Craig eventually transferred when he saw the hand-writing on the wall.

Good answer. However, I don't know if he'd have ever been good at LSU. The lights might have been a little too bright. Had a great season at Northwestern, though, and parlayed that into a nice NFL career.
