One of our ports is Nassau for a Royal Caribbean cruise we are going on in July. Looking for any advice on if it's worth even getting off the boat or anything worth seeing while we are there.

Will have my wife along with 8 & 5 year old kids. I know they have some touristy spots to visit, but we will be just coming off seeing CoCo Cay island they have. Not really interested in paying a fortune to spend a few hours at Atlantis either.

Really depends on what your family likes. It’s definitely nice to have the boat to yourself for 8 hours if you are wanting to spend time by the pool.

A lot of the Nassau excursions are a little pricier. The Seaworld Explorer isnt bad for younger kids. They call it a “mini submarine” but it’s basically a pontoon boat with sunken sections with windows and they drive around and you can see all the fish. I think it’s still $50 or $60 a person. It isn’t a very long time viewing the fish though, but for young kids it wouldn’t be bad.

Sunday we are headed to Nassay for fourth time on a cruise stop. First two times we went and hung out at the British Colonial Hilton. The hotel is now closed, apparently their is still pretty cheap beach access, and the food service is through the Margaritaville next door but I have heard not great things about the food and drinks taking a while to make it over there.

We've also been to Breezes which was awesome but it is 16 plus to get in.

This time the whole family is going and we are doing Atlantis. It's insanely overpriced but you only live once, right?

You can also take a taxi or a Jitney Bus to places like Cable Beach and Juckanoo Beach.

Here is some resort pass options

Lastly if you do nothing else, get off and go have a beer at Pirate Brewing.

As of January, they dont hand out passes until 3 pm. So this no longer works.

Drop the kids off at the kids club onboard and go buy your wife a nice piece of jewelry. Shopping is great in Nassau and right by the cruise port.

The straw market is worth walking through. It’s a good way to kill :30 minutes or so and grab something. Lots of pushy vendors though.

Cable beach is next to it, I wouldn’t eat anything at the food truck/area market though.

Depending of how much time you have, take a boat to rose island and see the pigs. Pretty cool experience. They serve lunch and cash bar. Private island.
