If Detroit Mercy player could break record w/ tourny, why not count Pete's FR stats too?

Not saying we should, but if that Detroit Mercy player had gotten into that sham below the NIT tournament, it would have somehow counted and he would have been the record holder while playing 5 years and at least 63 more games than Maravich. Yet, Maravich's record was set in just 3 years because he couldn't play on the varsity team as a Freshman, per the rules of that day. If we're going to count some off-brand tournament that no one has ever heard of, then let's go back and count Pete's FR stats too.

What were they? How much did he average for the Freshman team at LSU that doesn't even count?

In other words, no way should Maravich's record ever fall with something like this. No way.
