Problem with Terminix Termite Bond...exorbitant price increases.
Posted by DiamondDog

It started out you pay the bond and installation fee. You follow up with $29/mo in perpetuity.
I get a notice in the mail that it's changed due to inflation to $114.00 a month with a number to cancel.
Smells like some BS to me.
Come to find out Terminix seems to have changed the terms of their future guarantee to Nix and Fix. Treatment based. They've dropped the repairs they used to incentivize as a guarantee- they'll treat and repair the home.
So they're trying to shed their old contracts that include repairs by increasing prices almost 400%.
In Alabama, Terminix was sued successfully and won. Contract bonds reinstated and owners issued $700 refund.
Wonder who we contact in LA? Going to request a copy of my service agreement.

That is the entire reason to get a house treated (Often retreated after several treatments each time the property changes hands). If there is no guarantee for repairs than a $700 treatment is just a money grab.

I rebuilt a house eaten by termites in NOLA in which they had an old contract in tact. I believe they fronted 50% of the rebuild.
