I never cashed any of the advanced child tax credit checks last year. Can I just claim them on my taxes as not received and void the checks or do I need to cash the checks?

I see you are as lazy using Google as you are cashing checks you receive.

Really? That's interesting to me. What happens if you never receive the checks because they are lost in the mail? Yes, you were sent them...but they never hit your bank account.

What do you think this is going to accomplish?

That's different than what the OP is asking.

If your scenario were the case, you'd have to provide some documentation to support your claim. The IRS also provides some resources to help with this:

Did you have an advance payment of the Child Tax Credit issued to you, but did not receive it?

I’m a CPAA which is like a Dr compared to a CPA being a nurse.

Hold the checks until a year where you need the credit and claim them that year. Fyi there’s a 15 year statute of limitations on doing this.

did you request to receive your credits in advance or was it automatically sent to you without provocation?

Eh, I thought one was expired, but they're all still good. Filed my taxes today and will cash the checks in a few.
