Not sure what you were trying to say there, but whatever it is makes no sense. The throw to 3rd base to 1st is shorter than the throw from SS to 1st.

What’s your lineup

Infield has some flexibility

Pineda has played 2B, so naturally would fit there over young

If they want Pineda at SS I’d prob favor Young at 3B & Thompson at 2B

Thompson couldn’t reach his throws to 1st base from SS, no way his noodle arm can reach from 3rd

MFP, is that you?
I feel dumber for having read this.

Not speaking speed of the throw, that’s a Pitcher who has a noodle arm, meaning he doesn’t have the Range to reach the throw to 1st, how can he make the throw from 3rd?

Wow lol

You doubled down and made it worse.

DH Tanks

Just like Berry, he is not coming to LSU to DH. He will play a position. Berry was a permanent fielder till injury.

Berry playing the field did nothing for his draft stock.

Even as bad as he was it didn’t even negatively affect it

I’m not sure jay wants to keep losing games due to infield defense when a move like that proved to be pointless

Only situation I can see that he does DH is if Jay made a deal with him and promised a position for his draft year 2024 and not next season.

You are more than likely right though. He will probably get first crack at 3B unless Morgan decides he wants to go play OF and Tanks can play 1B.

You are theoretically correct. And I agree.

But White may not see it that way

It is a win-win for the player. It didn't negatively affect his draft stock, but if he would have showed a solid defense it could have improved his stock to a top 5 pick. Still worth it to get a Berry/White type bat in the lineup. More of the issue is to get the middle infield defense better.

Tommy Tanks did not come to LSU to DH. In fact, he left NC State because they did not let him play the field. Tanks will be Berry 2.0 experiment at 3B.
