Justice Williams will add a scoring threat to this team. In the limited time he handle the ball, I could tell he’s a combo guard but he won’t force shots.

Also, Wade has to get Mwani Wilkinson more involved. Wilkinson is the leading 3 point shooter on the team. 46.7 % from the field 7-15. All of his shots have come from the corner. That’s the perfect spot because Wilkinson cutting from the corner on the baseline will be a dunk every time. Wilkinson shot 74% from the damn field last year because almost all his shots were dunks in the paint.

Sidenote, Shareef O’Neal has been cleared, he may not score but we have another 6’10 body with a long wingspan that can block shots and get rebounds.

Shareef can score. He is about 40% career from 3. He is probably our best rebounder too next to Eason. He can draw big defenders away from the basket. This is gonna really help offensively !

If the cold stretch to start lasts for half of the amount of time, we can win that game.

Gotta hope it was an outlier, statistically, it is.

Two Things:

1. The offense is hot garbage.

2. The defense is so good they were within 6 (with the ball) with 8 minutes left and, well...see #1.

TURNOVERS have to be fixed!

Don’t get too excited. In his limited playing time he’s averaged about 3 ppg. Does give us more length inside to hopefully open up Eason and Wilkinson more. I’d love to see him quadruple his ppg and give us another real inside threat.

I agree with all that you said.

Wilkinson is often a ghost on offense and they he will come out of nowhere and make a great play for some points here and there (like last night). And he actually is a really good 3-point shooter. Wade does need to push him to do more/take more shots on offense given the other options.

And one thing I liked about O'Neal in the brief time he was healthy last year is that he brought a lot of energy and did not play soft at all on D and with rebounding. We could use his aggressiveness out there at times during the game.

Wilkinson is limited offensively, you may want to involve him on back door alley oops, but you not running designed plays to isolate him or for spot up 3’s.

Agree on all accounts.

Justice looked cool, calm, and collected most of the time. He will help.

Mwani needs to get more looks, especially with how putrid we are from behind the arc at times. Really, we need more looks for anybody that can shoot from behind the arc.

Reef will help with depth, but I'm not expecting him to make big waves. He can be a really important piece, though, with how thin we are down low.

Shooting is a real concern for the bigger picture. If we can't get bigs in foul trouble or move them out of the paint, we have to figure out who can make perimeter shots to loosen teams up. Or, just come up with a different game plan. We can compete, as is, but we need to figure some things out of we really want to make a deep run in the conference and into the NCAA bracket. Otherwise, teams with bigs that sit around the block will make us look just like we did last night.

Have you seen our other guys shoot? He actually has a nice shot from out there and it shows with his % out there.

LSU was +4 in the turnover battle vs Auburn. We shot FT's 10 % below our average.

As we all know, we were KILLED by shooting less than 30% from the floor, our worst shooting night of the year.
