Xbox Live offline for 24hrs

Does anyone know specifics of why it is down for 24 hours? Just curious

fall update, totally changing the dashboard, adding the ability to install games to the hard drive, etc.

Xbox Live will be offline for maintenance. As a result, Xbox LIVE and the ‘My Xbox’ section of Xbox.com will be unavailable, and the Xbox forums will be in read only mode (you won’t be able to post.) The remainder of Xbox.com will be available with limited interruptions. When the service returns, you will not have any new features and you will not have the new Xbox experience update. That will happen later this Fall.

Geez dude. You are paying for the update. Are you really that hard up for the 15 cents or so for it being down for a day ? Or maybe you rather they never do an update ?

And just to let you know the update will take a while to download on the xbox. They are not saying how long but im saying its gonna take time to load all that.

lots more coming with this update besides the avatars, installing games to the hard drive is going to be cool

The NetFlix thing, if done right, is going to fricking own. Unless there's a limit to how many times you can use it, or a shitty selection of movies to stream.

How will the NetFlix thing work? Obviously you have to pay to use the service, but will the selection be good? Can you stream movies in HD?
