This dumbass mindset is why employers are pulling the shite they are.
1) Your religious belief doesn't have to be based on the teachings of any organized religion.
2) They can be recent and not life-long beliefs, which was previously established by the courts. A woman sued her employee for denying a personal day requested for religious reasons to observe a holy day. The company had denied it on the grounds that she had never requested it before. She argued that her stance had changed since the passing of her father, and won.
3) The fact that other medicines can be tied to fetal cell lines does not automatically nullify that objection. If someone did not know this to be the case before COVID, that person could easily argue that knowing this now, they will no longer use those medicines.
4) The employer does not get to decide what is an isn't a religious belief, but only if it is sincerely held (burden is on employer to prove it is not).
