Map out the 7yrs of the CFB playoff, all 28 teams & their coaches, and it’s easy to pinpoint what the majority of them all share.

HCs with offensive minded backgrounds, and excellent QB play .

Are we ignoring Saban/Bama and Kirby/UGA?

You're overly relying on OU and OSU and their annual playoff apperances

Dabo is a big stretch and I see your vague wording is meant to include him

I understand your point, but it's skewed due to an incredibly small sample b/c the big boys have dominated the playoffs

Saban has been a unicorn & I don’t think anything in college football has earned the right to be compared to Alabama.

& Kirby has not yet been a threat, partly because of his offenses

Dabo leans offense & I think their development of QBs & skill players speak to that

Jimbo, Helfrich, Brian Kelly (multiple), & Chris Petersen are all offensive guys who have brought teams to the playoff

LSU In their appearance propelled by offense.

Even so, Ohio St & Oklahoma should not be discounted.

The most common themes with these teams are great QB play, usually mobile guys. And offensive minded head coaches.
