Just want to start by saying I really like the guy, and hope he makes a full recover from that concussion, etc.

But in terms of football, his cap hit this year was 8.4 million according to CBS. Looking at the lack of weapons we have at WR and TE, it really makes me wish that money was spent elsewhere.

I know Michael Thomas screwed the Saints, but man even if he were healthy we still could use an upgrade at TE or WR2. I think this experiment has backfired on Sean this year.

He is currently our best receiver outside of Kamara...I think we used the money appropriately, just wish Sean would use him more often.

Not sure if he's the 2nd best receiver. His hands are average at best. Probably slightly below.

Debatable. Maybe there's a reason he isn't out there running more routes? He doesn't have the best hands for one.

Yeah what would we rather have?
A 8 million dollar WR or a 8 million dollar Taysom?

the problem everyone is missing here is in regards to the TE. noone in their right minds would have fathomed Trautman just falling off the north rim of the Grand Canyon like he did this year - TE was not expected to be the major hole, just like receiver's weren't expected to be as bad as they are.

only a finite amount of resources to go round, and when you fill spots of needs, murphy's law says something will pop up and bit you in the arse - and here we are.

Everyone pretty much knew the receivers would be arse... they just expected MT to be there. His absence highlights the glaring roster deficiencies.

sure we were expecting MT back, and we kinda figure Trequan would be hit or miss, but Calloway was supposed to take the next step forward and it hasn't happened.

the fact is, if Calloway had made the next step we expected, and trequan was semi useful - we would have been ok at receiver - not great or spectacular, but ok - which honestly is all we have really needed.

instead our receivers are shite.
