Marcus Thornton was the closest we’ve had to Chris Jackson as a shooter but we’ll likely never have anyone close to him as an overall player. He was Curry before Curry.

Before you embarrass yourself maybe you should read the name on the side of the building they play in. If you want to say CJ wasn’t a comparison to Pete, then my bad. But from smoothness, shooting ability and ball handling, CJ was 80% of what Pete was. Height was the difference but the positions were the same.

Pete Maravich would be before Thornton if we are talking strictly shooting. Him and CJ are arguably the best shooters in college basketball history. With that said Thornton is not far behind.

Are we talking after CJ or all-time? All time its Maravich. He could do so many things that his pure shooting skill was vastly underrated. I would also put Howard Carter, Don Redden, and even Jordy Hultberg above Marcus Thornton as pure shooters.
