Ya, and there is a time period where you have growth in power - as shown in the black tower where working with the power made them increase in both power and skill faster.
I was kind of disappointed when I found out there was some like equation of power level to age and then the whole genetics thing.
It is cool he had that level of thought in it, but I don't know if we needed to know about it. Reduces some of the mystery and sense of wonder.
