I think the root of the issue is that Conner was picked over potentially two out-of-staters, when the perception is that he is LSU Caliber.

My only concern is if it affects overall recruiting in NELA where we know who also is well-respected.

Someone who gets it. There is more in play than just Conner. The way it went down at the camp was bad. Lots of hurt feelings. Hopefully, all of this has been resolved and LSU is not effected in NELA.

Conner is a great player. Ford is going to be a great player for LSU. If Pratt is a better player than Conner, great. I just hate seeing great Louisiana players going to rival schools.

I agree ..If an in-state stud bleeds Purple and Gold its a shame to lose him.

To my knowledge, he has not received an offer from LSU. So yeah, I guess for you it really has "been awhile".

right so neither one of us know rocket, like i said though i havent heard anyone mention him being recruited by LSU at RB only LB which was the problem along with the whole commitment/offer debacle. so yeah its been while since i concerned myself with his recruitment because LSU had no dog in the hunt with it and i only follow LSU recruits to be honest.

i agree and the whole point of my argument is that the coaches dont just project posistions they are projectings skill ceilings and maybe they just dont see as high a ceiling in conner as pratt ford and richardson

It was made clear back in the spring that Conner had not been offered as RB or LB by LSU. In fact, I called into the Rant Radio Show and asked Sonny about it and he as much confirmed it. If LSU would have offered him, I'm sure we'd have heard of it.

He would have been in for App. State if not for the hurricane. Definitely seems the coaches want to meet with him.

Time will tell but I really don't think he would star at LSU but he might as MSU so this is really a win-win situation I think. I wish him luck.

It's not like we're signing some chumps in lieu of Connor or as if were thumbing our nose at another 5 star RB.

Whoa, all-sec LB? I think Conner would be a waste at LB and their is no evidence that he has any ability or interest in playing LB. I heard that they experimented with him at LB some and it was not pretty.

No way LSU should even remotely consider wasting a schollie to see if Conner might be able to play LB. We are thin enough there and tight on schollies so I would take Bostic, Jones, or Williams, real stud LBs, well above before taking a wild shot at Connoer at LB.

which gives credence to what rocket said, im not against admitting im wrong. i do think with his speed and size he could be great at LB especially if he has a nose for the ball.

I was one of the people from NELA who thought LSU should recruit Conner at first. I have watched him play and saw him against WM, he is a great kid. I don't think Conner would be a good fit for LSU at this time. LSU has such depth at RB right now with several more outstanding to come (i.e. Pratt, Ford). IMO CM is a much better back then Conner and wants to go to LSU but he is yet to get an offer so that shows how stacked LSU is at this position. Like USC, LSU is in the position where they can cherry pick the field this year and it just happens Conner does not fit the staffs needs so he had to go elsewhere. I hate it happened the way it did, but I don't think its Conner or LSU's fault but more outsiders talking stuff they know nothing about. I don't think this will hurt LSU recruiting in NELA as most of the people know and expect LSU to make the best decisions for the program to continue its winning ways.
