Objectively, should we be 1-10?

Should a team in year 3 of a rebuild be 1-10 with Zion Williamson missing all games, Brandon Ingram missing 5 games, Herb Jones missing (5?) games?
If you're missing your 2 star players and a fairly key contributor, should you be this bad?
Or should you have enough talent on a roster at this point to at least win 2-4 games?

I mean it's easy to look at the 76ers winning without their two big names but at the end of the day we have a crappy gm and horrible front office combined with a bench who doesn't care. Surprised we even have a W at this point.
We need Zion and BI healthy to become a non laughable team.

Ironic Username for someone following this team

What's weird is we seem to in every game in the first half and play pretty well, and then the 3rd quarter hits and it all goes to shite. Seems like this has been the case with this franchise for a long time. I don't know if that is more on the players or the coach

You also have to take the schedule into account, we've played all playoff or playoff contending teams.
The simple answer is yes. This team is constructed around Zion and Ingram, and is dependent on those 2 playing. Griff constructed the team with guys that can defend and/or shoot the 3 around them, which is exactly what is needed, but again, hinges on them 2 playing in at least 80% of games.

If you follow basketball, that really shouldn't be weird at all.
Its pretty well known that the season is a marathon not a sprint, and good teams really don't clamp down and put in maximum effort in most games until the 4th quarter.
Teams talent takes over in the 4th and they actually try, and we don't have any talent to overcome that.

Except nobody can shoot the 3 still. Hopefully Graham gets better as more of a set shot spacer but right now he aint it

I think teams make adjustments and our coaching/players can't handle it

No
There is simply no excuse.
Our two stars make less than 45 million dollars, which means you have ample room to build out depth and take back money in trades or FA.
We were gifted 3 additional lottery picks, one top 5.
The only reason that you would be fielding a rotation of guys this bad is terrible roster mismanagement.

If you ask any player they will tell you that "adjustments" is the most overrated fan phrase of all time. Teams really don't adjust THAT much over the course of the game.
Its really just a matter of talent and effort in most games in the 4th Quarter. With two evenly matched teams in the playoffs, yeah adjustments can matter.

...Or defend well.
JV is a sieve(love him, but he gets absolutely destroyed in PnR), NAW is terrible, and Graham is just passable.

Hold up going ask a few players and I'll get back with you....yep they said you are full of shite lol. Actually just looked up the stats and the pelicans are 14th in 1st quarter scoring and then fall of a god damn cliff for the rest of the game. All the playoff teams seem to be pretty consistent throughout. Probably more to do with how shitty our bench is

I think how much our stars make is sort of irrelevant for us because no FA of any value wants to come here.
With a franchise like us, you have to:
Be perfect with draft picks almost every time.
Develop your talent really really well around the margins
Strike gold on guys no one expects to do anything
Be successful enough to have vets actually want to sign with you after 3-5 years of success.
We really haven't done much of that at all.

It’s a terrible roster consisting of wing defenders that can score/shoot (except Murphy and Graham) built around an overweight injury prone “superstar.” We have Jonas and BI that are good scorers but that’s it. That’s not on Willie Green to me. At least he’s trying to coach them up.

yeah, I'm not.
Peyton and Eli Manning literally laughed out loud recently on their broadcast the other night on the concept of "halftime adjustments".
Multiple players have commented on it over the years. Its really not as big of a thing in the regular season as fans think. Playoffs, sure.
The point is: we don't have any talent to compete when it gets to the 4th.

just looked up defensive stats also. Pelicans actually middle of the pack 1st and 2nd then drop of a little bit in the 3rd and are dead last in the 4th

true...for the love of god can we just find a few players who can shoot the 3 lol. I thought for sure Graham was going to step up, maybe it has something to do with BI being out, but he has been pretty bad the last 6-7 games or so.

Because teams actually try in the 2nd half and have substantially more talent than we are putting out on the floor.
Every team we are playing aren't some masterminds of strategy with Willie Green sucking his thumb on the bench helpless.

I don't think it has anything to do with actually trying lol. They probably see the tendencies of certain players and sets through the first half and come 2nd half the players settle in, adjust, and execute. I think our players/coaches have no idea how to do that. Mostly the players

It matters in trades as well, but also, this isn't really true.
I mean we just got Graham, we got Reddick before, and every year you see smart small market teams go after smart role players like SAS with Bryn Forbes and McBuckets. Denver grabbing(or retaining) good depth guys and utility players like the Green duo or Barton.
No one was forcing Griff to put all his eggs in the Lowry and CP3 basket. And I am pretty sure had you reigned in your expectations we could have gotten some FA's.
