Here is how the rest of the season plays out.

USC goes on to lose to one more team that it should beat by 40. By this time in the season, they will blame injuries.
They will eventually end up winning the Pac-10 because it really isn't a good conference.
They will then proceed to play a completely overmatched Big 10 opponent in the Rose Bowl, and beat the frick out of them.
They will then proclaim that they would be National Champions if there was a playoff because they are playing the best at the end of the season.
The media hops on this, and wholeheartedly agree's.
USC ends up with a good recruiting class.
USC enters next season as preseason #1.
And then we start all over again.
Did I miss anything?

pretty accurate statement...but you left out about how "they just look the most impressive RIGHT NOW part" at the end of the regular season when other teams are playing hard arse championship games and they are whipping UCLA

wouldn't it be great if USC & Ohio State are matched up in the Rose Bowl this year, the game ESPN couldn't even hype!
