Niko Goodrum, SS, Astros: I don’t see myself drafting Goodrum for 12-team leagues, but I already have him in three leagues, including the 15-team NERF (New England Roto Fantasy) League. With shortstop being so deep, there is no reason to reach for Goodrum until the late rounds, even in deeper leagues, but as a late-round target, he is being overlooked (665 NFBC ADP). The Astros were a great landing spot for Goodrum, and not only because their lineup offers opportunities to produce runs. As of this writing, their shortstop and center field situations are unsettled, and Goodrum has a chance to start at both positions. The move from Comerica Park to Minute Maid Park also provides an enormous upgrade in park factor for home runs from both sides. While there is no reason to expect Goodrum to exceed his career .230 batting average in 2022, his potential to register a 15-15 season should leapfrog him over several shortstop-eligible players going before him, such as Elvis Andrus, Paul DeJong and Ha-Seong Kim. If you think 15 homers is too optimistic of an expectation, bear in mind that Goodrum hit 27 of his 42 home runs as a Tiger away from Comerica Park
