Im trying to see it, I really am. But I think a lot of people including myself wants an “up and coming” young coach.... You could make an argument for both sides

Look, if it's up to me I'm looking at the coaches the NFL teams are looking at to fill their vacancies and seeing if I can grab one of the top ones before the teams in the league can. Or I'm looking at a guy like Dave Clawson at Wake Forest or Fickell or Matt Campbell (though losing to West Virginia is a BAD loss today), or even Sonny Dykes at SMU who has the best-looking offense in all of college football right now.
But Jimbo Fisher is the coach we bitch about because he only goes 9-4 or 10-3 and doesn't win the West that year. Then the next year he's in the playoffs. We're back relevant immediately with him even if he gives off a Paul Mainieri vibe.
