Remember when the rantards wanted him to be head coach in waiting and blah blah?
Now, he wins national title as a coordinator and has Baylor in position for a conference title and all the sudden isn’t good enough to be at LSU.

I would put him above Tucker, kiffin, or stoops. Idk if I would go as far to say anyone else is a letdown.

Not everybody on the Rant wanted him back then, or doesn’t want him now. The Rant doesn’t speak with one voice. I for one am actually higher on him now than when he was here.

His first season as a head coach was not good
His track record as a head coach is not complete
2021 season Baylor finished with 41 ranked recruiting
class
2022 current Baylor recruiting class is ranked at 33
Recruiting is perhaps the #1 thing a college head coach has to do to insure success on the field. Rankings and stars are not 100% but look a the teams that play in the CFP every season then look at their recruiting classes.
Aranda is just not a proven coach and is a big risk.

Was he really that good of a DC while at LSU? He only ranked in the top 10 his 1st year with someone else's recruits. Yes he has had 1 good year at Baylor, but is he just another unproven coach? I like him but you have to look closer than just 1 year. Just asking the obvious question.

Aranda is building dynasty at Baylor. He has trumped mighty Texas and he doesn't have to deal with whacky LSU fans. He's not coming if he's offered.
