Now I once had a female Lab mix and it didn’t work for her.She would take off running, hunch up at the tone and take the shock. When she wanted back in she would sit there and wait for me to come take the shock collar off so she could come back in the yard.
Talking to other people and with my experience,I would say it depends on the dog.

I am asking out of curiosity, did you start doing it when the lab mix was a puppy? im just wondering if that would make a difference.

She was somewhere around 8-10 months old.
My current puppy,Redbone I started at 4 months old.
I might have waited too long for the first one,she had a taste of freedom and didn’t want to give it up.
