When I was younger I enjoyed athletics, driving my sports cars, scuba diving.
Now I spend time custom editing audio of musical performances and burning my own cds to listen to when driving.
Photography - I have this camera and lens setup to shoot football and baseball and have gotten field passes for NFL and college games. This lens won't focus and enable shuttering at a distance closer than 20 feet, so I have different cameras and lenses for fashion photography. You can join a club, learn to edit and create art images, enter contests, or simply become a paparazzi - sort of a "thrill of the hunt" thing I guess.

Are there any charity type causes that you or your s/o have near to your heart?
If so, find some reasonably priced fundraisers (galas, wine events, etc.).
Call the organizer of the event and tell them you are new in town but would like to know if they need any help because you are passionate about the cause.
Before you know it, they will be introducing you personally to everyone at the event.

I'm pretty new to collecting, but so far I have a few nice 200As, a red knob 228 and 220 (not rare just a little less common), a 65 Sears single mantle and some 220s and 228s that were just too good to pass up. I think my most collectable one would be my 1945 520 army stove. Picked it up for two bucks at an estate sale. Had a Ted Williams but sold it.
