Why is coaching at a top school considered great without looking at results?

Sick of hearing oooh Tucker coached at Alabama, Georgia, in the NFL as DC, etc.

So what? Ed O coached at Miami and USC.

Doesn’t make him any good.

Tucker’s results as DC are very meh to bad.

The narrative hat as assistant is qualified to be LSU head coach because of working for great coaches or good programs is so flawed.

You know who else worked at good schools? Stud. Want him as your head coach? Or how about Charlie Strong?

Simple minded thinking.

Tucker is a good football coach doing great things at Michigan State in his first real season there. Is he right for LSU? Maybe, maybe not. Time will tell if he’s hired and whether or not he performs in that role at a high level.

I agree with you 100 percent.

It's often how people want to justify whatever opinion they have.

I have never agreed with it. All I care about is your own results. Working under someone is really irrelevant to me. I am also not sure how much of his Georgia's defense was really his. Seems like Kirby is the defensive mastermind there.

When I look at say Aranda's previous resume I am actually more impressed. Like what he did at Cal Lutheran, Southern Utah, Hawaii, Utah St, Wisconsin, then LSU.

And while we are on this subject. I am sick of hearing how everyone is the next Saban. For example, well Saban also lost before hitting it big. Or Napier is considered the next Saban by such and such. Sabans don't just happen.

He very well may be good, but I agree that we need to see more from him.
