People say LSU recruits itself, which is true in part, but it takes an elite recruiter to take it to that next level and get nearly ALL the kids to stay home, especially when Bama and ATM are at the level they are now. UT and OU joining will bring even more competition.

Wow, thank you, this guy gets it. Yes, part of the reason is LSU and the other critical draw for recruits is the coach LSU hires.
Miles could recruit plenty of quality Olinemen but not enough quality QB’s. nor linebackers until Aranda ariived. After Miles left, O couldn’t get enough quality Olinemen to come here, and he couldn’t get enough quality linebackers after Aranda left. But O could draw in plenty of quality QB’s.
So you see LSU fans, it does matter a lot who LSU hires and how well he and his staff recruits. For example, Kiffin would definitely bring in quality QB’s and athletes on offense but will he and his staff be able bring in enough quality defensive players?
