Psychological read from a casual observer and Tiger Fan-
Winning the national championship was both a blessing and a curse for O. He got what he always wanted but then he got uncomfortable. He got antsy about expectations. Repeating is not a word he likes.
Underdog is where he is happy. He needs to have people doubting him. They were praising him after 2019 so what did he do? Got divorced, started misbehaving and ultimately, making everyone uncomfortable. O needed to destroy what had been built to get him back to that comfortable place. The underdog.
Now that he’s been fired, he’s in his comfort zone. He can now play victim and begin the work of showing everyone that he should not be counted out. He needs it. O loves the climb but hates the mountain top.
Anyway, that’s my take on O. I wish him all the best. Which is the last thing he wants.

Yes. Would not be shocked if we play great and there is an I told you so at the end.

Well, LSU will be an underdog in probably every remaining game except ULM and maybe Arkansas.

Yep
O can focus on the job of proving everyone wrong which is exactly what he likes to do

Yes, most people need to have “something to prove” to stay properly motivated to perform at a high level. Very few people have the mental discipline to continue to do what it takes to excel once they have reached the top.
Thats what separates people like Saban from 99% of other humans.

No doubt.
I listened to one of his talks years ago and he is incredibly focused on one thing. Preparing for The next game.
Saban is one of the most disciplined coaches ever.
O is going to be fine and I like the set up we have now. No hard feeling and O can leave with some dignity and some cash.
We get to have his support in recruiting and coaching the next few games.
I just wonder what point he’ll try to prove next

coaches don't give a rats arse either way. they just use stuff like that to motivate the small brained.
