As much as I love Dana White, he totally fricked his fighters when he took away their individual sponsorships. They used to pay for training camps and give these guys, even low-mid level fighters, the ability to not live fight to fight.
In saying that, if Ngannou is borrowing money between fights at his level, he's either severely mismanaged his money (quite possible) or he's getting raped financially by his camp (also quite possible).
Ngannou is not a young man (mid 30s I think), and a switch to boxing would definetly draw a tremendous gate and ppv if the fight was right, but Dana isnt going to let him be a total independent if he's still under a promotional contract with UFC, but he could still probably make $20-50 million off one fight.
Ngannou is also one of the few guys who could probably make it as a boxer, because that's all he really does anyway, but the dude better hit the roadwork way more, because his conditioning is and has been atrocious.
But, if he goes in there with a guy like Wilder, it will be one of the most anticipated boxing matches in a while, both guys are Dim Mak personified. If the hype machine is right, it would sell a lot of PPVs.

What? That fight would last about 30 seconds. This dude can’t switch to boxing in his 30s and go toe to toe with the best Heavyweights in the world. They are way too skilled.
