Seems to me that fans are insecure about whether LSU is a stepping stone or a destination job.

The answer is “it depends” but it CAN certainly be a destination spot.

Pay is always a determining factor. Will LSU pay too dollar for their head coach? I think the answer is unknown as we haven’t had a situation in the past 8 years that tests that level but the money is there.

We went cheap with O and it paid off short term but will cost us when we have to release him. That’s why it is worthwhile to do the homework and get the right guy rather than throw good money after bad in getting someone that will cost us to release.

I’m willing to be patient for the right guy. Pay him will and give him the promise for top dollar if results warrant it. Ie highest paid coach potential based on measurable results like championships.

Ridiculous. Based on the data in the OP, virtually every top program is a destination job. Coaches don’t willingly leave them.
