Kiffen has sucked or been fired from every head coaching job he has ever had. Why do you want him?

His first HC job was at 31 with a dysfunctional Raiders organization. No one was succeeding in that job...as evidenced by the fact they didn't have a winning season in the 4 years prior to Kiffin, nor the 8 years after...despite having 4 different HCs

He improved Tennessee in his his first season there before leaving for a better job at USC. He took the USC job with immediate scholarship and recruiting sanctions he had to deal with.

He made a dog of a program in FAU very competitive very quickly and, thus far, seems to be doing the same at Ole Miss (though it is still very early)

Now, at Oakland and USC he was fired largely because of his personality. He clashed with the administration very quickly. So, you're weary those same things would rear their head again, but hoping he has matured.

LSU fans are probably going to soon realize what a lot of SEC fans have realized recently. Highly successful major conf. coaches aren't as apt to leave good situations as maybe they were in the past.

Texas, Tennessee, USC, Florida, FSU, etc. all figured they were going to get "whoever they wanted" when the job came available. They didn't.

Saban and Dabo aren't leaving their schools. Every other HC is going to be met with criticism by the fanbase in on form or another. Is Kiffin a "slam dunk". No way...but neither is anyone else
