We live in a bleak era.

Most people (myself include) are having a tough time with it. We are used to prosperity, and some think we are witnessing in real time the fall of the U.S. as a world power.

Unless you're good at reassuring yourself that all of this is temporary, and have a good way to block out extraneous bullshite, you can drive yourself crazy.

I could see where I was headed. I was nowhere near killing myself via overdose, or even abusing substances, but there was a point in the middle of all this that I realized it was stressing me out to a point I've never experienced before. I said frick it, deleted everything social media except this site, decided to focus on nothing but school, football, and TV shows. Also decided to start therapy which has helped a lot.

Especially for single people, or people without kids, you start to wonder where the tipping point is in terms of stress overpowering all the good about life.

You guys are such soft pussies. Our grandparents or great grandparents grow up in a depression where they had little to eat. Now you guys cry if your ps5 doesn’t have internet connection. Grow the frick up. Life isn’t rainbows and unicorns shooting from your arse. Go to church, work hard, and when it’s the right moment, play hard. But everyone wants to be on a perpetual vacation and get “depressed” when they have to get a job.

I can't buy into use living in a bleak era. The perception of it is real, but this is the best time to be a live. Look how far we have come.. Compare today to just.. 100 years ago.

The biggest problem today is that people consume too much news. You have to embrace the fact that at some point you will die. It might be 5 mins from now, it might be 50 years from now and there are certain things you can't control.

Once you truly embrace those two things you have then ask yourself "what is really important in life?". Once you answer that, everything else is not that important.

If things happen you can't control then why worry about it? You just have to adapt to the situation. Get out and interact with more people. Take some time during the day to write. Write about whatever, what's going on in your life, whatever is in your head. But people need to stop taking things so serious.
