I don't subscribe to the notion that any musician, song, or solo can be ranked as "the greatest," since most of us enjoy the incredible creativity expressed by a wide variety of musicians, so I'll just mention two of my favorite solos that I know no one else is going to mention...

A bunch of great songs in this thread.

I’ll submit that Ted Nugent ripped off a few great ones.

Too many great Metal solos… would be hard to parse out.
