After last night, im sure there's a lot of rb's out there wanting to run behind this o-line.

I thought his name was Christine Michael?

The coaching staff apparently feels differently than we all do, because they still won't offer the guy.

Does he have lousy grades/test scores???
Posted on 9/22/08 at 12:38 am to Cadello
His grades are fine, but the staff is apparently not as in love with him as we all are. I guess it's Trent Richardson or bust, which is a mistake if you ask me.
I know this beacuse they went and scouted him in person not too long ago and left without extending a scholarship offer. If he had an offer he'd be part of the class.

There must be a reason. Les knows best

They're holding out for Richardson, because all I've read indicates that CM would love to go to LSU.

well everyting i keep hearing is that richardson is interested in lsu but and close to a bama lock.
He is probably the best back in the class.
hopefully we put a beat down on saban and he will change his mind. No doubt he will be at the game.

Well if you look at how Scott is running the ball, this is Miles dream tailback IMO
a pounder who has vision and quickness
CM is more like Murphy and KW blended if that makes sense
TR seems "thick", so I think Miles see's him more like Scott
Just speculation on my part, reading between the lines

This is the way that I look at it.
The staff has a list of recruits that they will not turn away. I would guess this would include kids like McFarland, Loston, Debose, Richardson, and Randle among others. Michael just is not on that list. Neither is Sentimore. I don't really think that Michael is competing with just Richardson for a scholly...but is probably also competing with some of these other guys. If we go long with three rb's then we'll have to go short with another position. Considering the fact that rb is not a position of need, which one should we cut short?

I have been and still am terribly perplexed about this situation. Michael is ready to sign up and Richardson is a gump at this point. Richardson may be better or more of "what we're looking for", but Michael is a 5 star back. Why keep someone who wants to be here in limbo and wait on someone who may or may not want to be here. They are risking getting neither. I trust the coaches, and am not second guessing them, but like I have said before... the reason for not taking Michael better be a damn good one!
This is just my opinion. I obviously don't know as much as the coaches.
We'll see what happens.

I just don't understand this at all. We have Michael Ford and Dexter Pratt already. Are they both not power runners? I know Ford has some speed but he's built more stocky. And Pratt will probably move to OLB. Michael is the perfect compliment to the backs we already have.

somebody call and ask miles on his radio show?

It looks to me like the staff may believe that not getting either back would be fine. Maybe taking another back would keep us from getting Debose or a second safety. I'm just throwing those two out there to make a point. Maybe, unless someone of Richardson's caliber wanted to commit, the staff would rather add another OL, or WR, or DB rather than a third RB. Just my guess.

according to rivals and scout, we've offered michael though.

Most feel that it is CM or TR, but the coaches may be after other positions. For it to be "fine" to not get either, we need to get the "best available" according to the coaching staff's list.

You guys may be right. It would be "okay" to not get either of these guys, but I hate to not get a 5 star who really wants to be here. And I know, Lache is coming next year, but that's a long time from now. Lots could happen before then. I love Pratt and Ford. If those are our 2 backs, I am completely satisfied. But...

I find that hard to beleive that LSU coaches dont feel that Micheals is on Richardson level. Even the ranking suggest that they are pretty close.
As far as type of backs. TR = MF.
Now i do think that Miles loves Bigger Backs. Plus to keep TR out of the SEC in the Hands of Bama.
Overall I feel like this decision will come back and bite us in the butt. Always take the best available. If Scott keeps playing the way he has been he is for sure a first rounder. Especially since he has no injuries adn Beanie Wells is hurting.
