If they fire you over this, I’m guessing you become eligible for unemployment. Think that lasts a good while. If you have some money saved you can ride it out while chilling at home.
Apply get food stamps etc.

Take solace in the fact the institution that forced you to lose your job will now have to pay for your 6 month to year vacation while you sit home and enjoy life. Small wins
