Every game is different. That didn’t make sense with the game plan we had on defense. We knew the defense was going to be on the field a ton, couldn’t afford to have quick 3 and outs on offense too.

At what point does having no rhythm (just like the UCLA and MSU games) and not sustaining drives not equal the same damn result- not possessing the ball enough? We saw better execution and the offense actually getting into a groove running with tempo last week. They were NEVER in a groove today. We had to rely on big plays to win because we didn’t really sustain drives.

I understand why the staff slowed things down, but there is absolutely no reason that they couldn’t have mixed in periods of tempo to shake things up and try to get Max and the offense into a groove. Playing all one way one week and then completely abandoning what worked a week later is ridiculous.

If we don’t use tempo vs Auburn, we will probably lose. This offense just doesn’t work with these players without tempo. After 4 games, I think we’ve all seen enough to know that’s how this offense will play its best. If that’s what we are, then the staff needs to accept it and embrace it, like it or not.

You know we played CMU last week, right and as bad as State is they are way better than CMU.
