Had a good, dear friend die suddenly and unexpectedly today
I wrote this as my goodbye
Thousand points
Well tomorrow’s not promised,
And yesterday is said and done,
Leaving little songs and stories,
Of our time under the sun,
Though we might feel so unspecial,
Like a star lost in the night,
You touched much more than you could know ,
To light the way of you must go,
There glows a thousand points of light,
The little pieces, time in patches
Things that seem like nothing much
Create a quilt, all stitched together,
Of oh so many that you’d touch,
And so with tears I’ll say goodbye,
And hope your soul can find release,
Your work is done, now rest your head
You might have not seen all the threads,
But you have sewn a Masterpiece,
Your candle snuffed,
But with your time,
You’ll find the lights you left behind,
Are more than words can ever say,
So As you go into the dark,
You’ve given all of us your spark,
Your thousand points will light your way

Sorry for the loss of your friend, it hurts and then gets better, but the hole is still there but that’s what makes those friends special
