Guy says there was a time when Moo St owned us with a solid QB. There was also a time when we were owned by basically everybody. Times have changed

Us ole timers learned it didn’t matter how good LSU was that season, whose #sses they kicked, when it came to State and Ole Miss, weird shite happened. There’s no logical reason for a 190 lb QB to survive repeated hits by 320 lb Leonard Marshal and others in a dog pile.

And I’m old enough to know that weird shite is capable of happening in any LSU/Saints game. There have been numerous of times in my 30+ years of watching where I say to myself “only to LSU and the saints does crap like this happen”. My point is we’re way more talented than Miss st is right now and have been for just over 20yrs. When they’ve beaten us recently it’s been bc of coaching.

Most QBs take the hits without getting knocked out of the game. It wasn’t a miracle that John Bond survived. He was an excellent QB who survived every defense he played against.

Also, when LSU beat Bear Bryant in Tuscaloosa it wasn’t because we were very good; it was because they were very bad, and Bear was a walking corpse!

LSU lost to State because State was better than LSU. They were 9-3 his freshman year, 8-4 his sophomore year, fell apart his junior year and were 5-6, and were 3-8 his senior year. They finished ahead of LSU in the SEC three of his four years.
