I just dont understand this sentiment. You still got the cough and lost your taste. You didnt die, or I assume go to the hospital. But everyone on the planet has said Delta is way more contagious, but less severe or deadly. So how would anyone know if the vaccine did its job?

Your case is exactly what would have happened to the overwhelmingly majority of the unvaxed with Delta, sick but not dead.
