They just put 4 civilians into outer space... surely they have figured out a way to tally attendance through scannable tickets

Those ticket scanners should provide a pretty darn accurate headcount by halftime of each game. Unless they’re manufactured by Dominion.

Still waiting on my refund. I’m sure the mandates and communist policies are a reason attendance is down.

At some point, you’d think that lower demand would drive season ticket prices downward. Many folks are likely questioning the value of holding season tickets when they haven’t sold out season tickets and can easily purchase tickets for a reasonable price to the meaningful games worth attending. I’m soon approaching 20 years as a season ticket holder and beginning to give this serious consideration.

I’d prefer an all-P5 schedule, but I understand that’s probably not realistic. So be very selective about the cream puffs… Tulane/ULL/LaTech at least provide some fan intrigue. Playing Central Michigan or SanJoseSt or EasternKentucky is really just a waste of everyone’s time.

The purpose of out-of -state games like that are to stimulate recruiting in those regions. We may never actively recruit anyone out of Michigan, but maybe a kid watches that game, and is impressed enough with LSU to commit.

LSU is/was (however you want to look at it) already a top recruiter in the state. So only playing LA teams is a waste of time.

Also, these small schools need money for their programs, so by playing us, they can boost their athletic programs.

It’s really a win/win (as long as we win lol)

Night game against Auburn will solve these issues. If Auburn wins this week we’ll have a ranked opponent coming into Death Valley. It’s going to be wild.

Undeniable observations:
1. Tiger Stadium has been incredibly more empty than usual for the first two games despite opponents.
2. LSU knows the actual attendance as well as ticket, souvenir, and concession sales. They choose not to release them.

Possible reasons:
1. Hurricane Ida ravished a large number of fan’s homes and businesses.
2. Opening loss and poor performance in opening to UCLA.
3. Poor quality of opponents. 2019 home opponents Georgia Southern and Northwestern St., 2018 Southeastern and La Tech, 2017 Chattanooga and Syracuse. No difference.
4. Covid:
A. Fans afraid to attend games and can’t offload tickets.
B. Fans turned in tickets and/or funds to LSU for refund over covid policy, and LSU hasn’t resold them.
5. Combination.

4.C. Hotels were required to keep rooms for first responders and cancel reservations that conflicted. At least one poster here was flying in with 3 family members but the hotel was cancelled 2 weeks ago. I don't know if he was able to book another hotel.

I went to the ticket office last week. Was told they were still trying to work through the process, which tells me there are a ton of people who requested refunds or they are holding onto the $$$ as long as they can and hope that some will attend games so they can refuse a refund.

If you want the refund and can go, I would go straight to the ticket office in person. They acted like they wanted me to wait, but I kindly and politely told them I made a trip up here because they wouldn't return emails so we were going to handle this while I was there. And, they did.

Sure, aside from the electronic devices that scan and count every single ticket used to gain entry

I think they are shocked by the numbers of refunds that have been requested. I also suspect they are terrified at the TAF refunds requested.

My family, 8 tickets, for almost 4 decades, and through 3 generations demanded a full and complete refund. I told them that I was, 1 willing to keep tickets despite my decision not to attend do to perceived health threat and actual assault upon my civil rights (I would sell what I could and give away the rest), 2 willing to turn in tickets for refund but allow LSU to keep funds as place holders like last year, or 3 demand full refund and risk never getting 8 seats together again and losing our family tradition forever over principle. We chose principle over tradition.

Not saying I will never go to Death Valley again, but I assume we have lost the 8 seat block forever. Will very much miss the family’s double reserved parking tailgate party.

But, at these Saturday get togethers. A good couple friend of my would go and buy tickets at the gate. He would pay below face value or get tickets to shite games for free, he would pay approximate face value for lower tier SEC games, and he would pay scalpers rate for the premier games. But considering the expense of the fund, his “season tickets” were less than mine every year including the 2019 National Championship!

And yes, LSU hasn’t refunded a dime yet!
