You Trumpers seem to have a blind spot/selective memory on this.
Trump is the one who hand-picked Milley to replace Gen. Joe Dunford as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Both Gen. Dunford and Secretary of Defense Gen. Jim Mattis recommended Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein to Trump to replace Dunford instead of Milley.
But after Trump met with Milley, Trump picked Milley going against the recommendation of two of the top military officers in his administration.
As always with Trump, he is sure he knows better than his military advisors (or anyone else} about picking a Joint Chief of Staff.
Trump's against the grain, off- the- top- of- his- head pick, didn't work out so well this time, did it.

so your Trump obsession aside, you admit that Milley is a dangerous, partisan political operator posing as a general? And it isnt like Trump could trust Mattis anyway could he? Its just more proof that DC is filled with irredeemable snakes, that the Biden administration seems completely content with.
ETA. If he was such a bad hire, why wont the righteous democrats you so dutifully shill for, fire him? Every military operation since the inauguration has been a national embarrassment.
